Hope of Deliverance

"Hope of Deliverance" is a single from Paul McCartney's "Off the Ground" album of 1993. It was released on 28 December 1992 in the United Kingdom and 12 January 1993 in the United States. The song is notable because the video for "Hope of Deliverance" is one of the last to feature Linda McCartney. Neither the song nor the album was particularly successful (though both did well in Germany and Eastern Europe for some reason). However, as always, Paul rebounded a few years later when he released "Flaming Pie."

"Hope of Deliverance" rarely is performed during Paul's concert tours. When McCartney does perform it, "Hope of Deliverance" tends to figure in encores or is performed in relatively remote areas such as Bogotá, Colombia (which may not be remote in South America, but it's not New York, Los Angeles, or London, England, either). The 1990s, in general, is not a period of Paul's career that he tends to focus on in concerts, but he has so much fantastic material from the 1960s-1980s that he doesn't have to.
