Ever Present Past

"Ever Present Past" was the second single from Paul McCartney's 2007 album "Memory Almost Full. It was released on 5 November 2007 and peaked at No. 85 on the UK Singles Chart.

While the single did not chart in the United States (except at No. 10 on the "Bubbling Under" list), the video for "Ever Present Past" directed by Phil Griffin is memorable because of Paul dancing with a room full of identical shaggy-haired female dancers. Paul may not be the world's greatest dance, but he shows he can still bust a move while wearing a suit and sneakers!

Paul comes across as an ordinary Joe more in this video than perhaps in any other, dressed in a simple suit and wandering around seemingly aimlessly. "Ever Present Past" is a strangely hypnotic video that you either will disregard out of hand, or watch over and over. This is in wide-screen for some reason, perhaps to encompass all the red-haired dancers who bear a striking resemblance to one of Paul's former wives.

I may be completely wrong on this, but if you listen closely, you can hear some Indian rhythms in the background. Perhaps a subtle tribute to George Harrison?
